An officer of the Rondônia Military Police, with a post of Lieutenant Colonel and 44 years old, was arrested at dawn on Sunday (1st), in the North Zone of Porto Velho, after starring in high speed, during which there were firearms fired by law agents. The military is accused of driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and practicing dangerous steering.
The occurrence began near Tiradentes Avenue, near the PM General Command, where the driver, aboard a Fiat Siena car, disobeyed the stop order imposed by Operation Prohibition agents. Upon being approached, the officer would have identified himself as a “colonel” and stated that he would not submit to inspection, immediately undertaking.
Military Police teams, using motorcycles, began a persecution by the capital’s roads. During the action, the suspect performed risky maneuvers, stroked at high speed and, at some point, tried to overthrow one of the police with the vehicle. Given the imminent risk, agents fired at the car tires in order to neutralize the threat.

The vehicle was intercepted only after the driver accesses a condominium in the industrial neighborhood. However, even surrounded, the military tried to escape on foot when he was taken back to the starting point of the blitz, requiring the use of pepper spray to contain it.
Despite having obvious signs of drunkenness-such as altered speech, motor instability and ethyl odor-the suspect refused to perform the alcohol test (breathalyzer). Based on the documentation drawn up by the agents, his arrest was decreed in the act.
The officer was taken to the Flagrant Department for the appropriate legal action. Unofficial information indicates that this police officer would have already been involved in other similar occurrences, including an earlier episode of driving under the influence of alcohol.
