The process of requalification of 25 school principals of the municipal school system of It began this Monday (02). The initiative aims to improve the skills of school managers and ensure quality education for public school students. The opening meeting, which took place today, was scheduled last week, on May 29, and was attended by union representatives, the convened directors and members of the Municipal Education Secretariat. During the meeting, the course grid was presented, which will extend until December, with classes totaling 28 hours per week, distributed in four days a week.

The Municipal Secretariat of Education reported that the course contents will be adjusted monthly, allowing the program to adapt to the emerging needs of principals and schools. Today’s meeting served to formalize the presentation of these contents to the directors and union representatives. Last week, the unions requested the postponement of the course, claiming the need for more time for preparation, but the secretary maintained the original schedule. In addition, the unions asked for the removal of substitute professionals designated to assist the principals during the course, but the secretary decided to keep these professionals, arguing that they are essential for the smooth running of school activities while the principals participate in the course.

The requalification course begins today, with the directors remaining in their duties and with the support of the designated assistants. This measure aims to ensure that school activities are not interrupted and that the principals can immediately apply the knowledge acquired in their daily practices. Today’s meeting was an opportunity for unions to better understand the content and structure of the course, and discuss possible adjustments that can be made throughout the program.
