Lover told the police that Fhillip da Silva Gregório committed suicide and handed over the weapon that was used to the police; criminal controlled trafficking in the Fazendinha favela, in Complexo do Alemão
Pointing out by the police as a member of the High Summit (CV), the main criminal faction of the, the trafficker Fhillip da Silva Gregory, known as “Teacher”, died with a shot in the head on Sunday night, 1st. He had been a fugitive from justice since 2018, after fleeing the jail, and hid in the German complex. This Monday (2), according to the Municipal Secretariat of Education, 16 schools in the region suspended classes, due to the death of the “teacher”. The report was unable to contact Gregory’s defense. According to the Rio Military Police, the trafficker entered the Emergency Care Unit (UPA) of Del Castilho, in the North Zone of Rio, around 9:30 pm on Sunday, with a shooting brand in the temple.
He was taken by his lawyer and a woman with whom he had an extramarital relationship, police said. In the unit, the death was found. The woman told the police that Fhillip committed suicide and handed over the weapon that was used. The case is investigated by the Capital Homicide Police Station (DHC).
Implant and Lipo
The “teacher” controlled trafficking in the Fazendinha favela, in Complexo do Alemão and, since it was sought by the police, did not leave the place. In order not to be recognized, he made hair implant and liposuction at clandestine clinics of the complex. The Federal Police even investigated an alleged coverage given to him by military police in exchange for bribery payment. The case is still calculated. According to PF, Fhillip was responsible for purchasing and logistics of gun, drugs and ammunition for CV gangs. He would have contacts with suppliers from Paraguay, Peru, Bolivia and Colombia.
The “teacher” was arrested by the PF in March 2015. Sentenced to 14 years in prison, he left jail in September 2018, after receiving the benefit of the “periodic visit to home”. He left the Edgard Costa Penal Institute and never returned. In November 2020, the trafficker was recognized among a gang members who clashed with military police unit (UPP) Fazendinha. The “teacher” escaped. In the favela, he acted charging fees to protect traders. An Inhauma supermarket, which would have refused to pay, was looted by residents, allegedly encouraged by the trafficker.
In 2023, a PF operation identified the “teacher” as one of the main ones involved in an import and arms trafficking scheme from Paraguay with European countries: Croatia, Turkey, Czech Republic and Slovenia. The weapons supplied CV and criminal groups from neighboring countries. According to the Rio Civil Police, despite the information of suicide, all circumstances of the trafficker’s death are being investigated. The body underwent necropsy and the weapon that would have killed the “teacher” was sent to expertise.
