At the end of 2017, the family found themselves in the Night Sea. A five -year -old boy hurt a tooth and so he went to the ambulance, the emergency room and the hospitalreminds the portal. Until the doctor at the University Hospital at St. Anna in Brno decided to pull out the tooth. But the boy had sepsis, poisoning of blood from the infection, and died that day.
Parents and son of several experts circled before death. His dentist cleaned his teeth and put on antibiotics. The pain did not go through, so they went to the accident hospital. Access to treatment was the same. The condition of the boy continued to deteriorate, bothered by fever and vomiting. These health problems were solved in the children’s hospital. The tooth pain led them to the University Hospital at St. Anne. The dentist pulled out two teeth and released the boy into home care. A little later he breathed out.
Poiled parents decided to deal with the tragic death of their only son in court. Originally they demanded 1.25 million Czech crowns (approximately 50,000 euros) for each. During the dispute, they acknowledged that they neglected the dental hygiene of the offspring, which had more caries. They also withdrew the lawsuit against the children’s hospital, as the doctors only dealt with associated problems and not tooth pain.
Finally, the City Court in Brno knocked out 875,000 Czech crowns (more than 35,000 euros) for everyone. The University Hospital at SV Anna, the accident hospital and the dentist must pay. The court verdict is not valid.
Self -judge Michaela Snehnická stated that the obligation was violated. “Doctors did not proceed on the basis of current medical science knowledge,“said the self -judge she quoted. She added that, according to an expert opinion, the attending doctors were supposed to pull the affected tooth at the beginning. She stated that the facilities refused, according to them, they did not violate any obligations.
