Although it was never officially confirmed by the CBF (Brazilian Football Confederation), the red shirt of the Brazilian team already exists. At least in Brás, in São Paulo, in its pirate version. Police from the Deic (State Department of Criminal Investigations) seized, on the morning of Tuesday (3), a large amount of the controversial uniform in the so-called Madrugada Fair, central region of the city.
According to police, the material was distributed in six stores, which had their responsible arrested based on the General Sport Law. Police were looking for sports goods sales with falsification team badges.
The investigators say they believe that the red shirt was the big call of sales, because of the national team game next week in Sao Paulo. The seized t -shirts had the Nike logo, the official supplier of sports equipment.
The controversy around a supposed second red shirt of the national team began in April this year, when a specialized website released the plan to create the uniform. It would replace blue, used as an option to the traditional yellow shirt.
Nike, with which the CBF renewed its contract last year, extending the bond until 2038 for $ 100 million (R $ 563 million), has never confirmed the existence of the red shirt. The uniform would carry the symbol of Jordan, marked by the company.
In April, the CBF issued a note in which it stated that models circulating on the internet are not official. Without citing the red color, the entity said only that the new collection will still be defined and disclosed in conjunction with the supplier and that the standards in traditional and blue yellow colors will be kept.
