The National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) reported this afternoon that eruptive activity has entered into “decreasing phase” and that the emission of ashes, although “weak”, continues.
The director of the Etneo Observatory, Stefano Branca, explained that the level of tremor of the volcano has declined, which measures the energy present in its internal ducts, although the control of its activity is constant.
The eruption began in the last early morning but surprised when, in the middle of the morning, at the heights of this huge volcano, a cast of pyroclastic material that descended by its southeast face could be seen.
