The government of through the Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply, will offer special funding conditions for the purchase of new national tractors. By the Pro-Trator Program, the State, SP will subsidize up to 50% of the Selic rate, with the objective of encouraging the modernization of the machine park in the countryside, increasing productivity and boosting the national agricultural implement industry. “Our commitment is to strengthen the rural producer with facilitated access to credit and technology. By subsidizing part of interest, the state enables the renewal of equipment and contributes to a more competitive and technified agro,” adds Governor Tarcísio de Freitas.

How it works

The interest rate defined in the call is up to 8% per year, with financing limit of R $ 50 thousand per rural producer. Elegable equipment must have a motor of up to 125 horsepower. The public call of the São Paulo government will be published on Tuesday (03) and will accredit cooperative banks interested in acting as financial operators of the program. The institutions have until June 9 to send the necessary documentation and obtain the qualification with the São Paulo government. “This is an important step in making financing more affordable, especially for the small and medium producer. We are expanding partnerships with credit cooperatives so that the resource reaches faster and more capitalized,” said Secretary of Agriculture and Supply, Guilherme Piai.

São Paulo leads sales of tractors in Brazil

With a strong presence in agribusiness, São Paulo maintains the national leadership in tractor sales. According to data from the National Association of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (Anfavea), the state traded more than 7,000 units in 2024, representing 21% of the total sold in the country. Following, Paraná appears, with 4.9 thousand tractors sold, and Rio Grande do Sul, with 4.3 thousand units.
