Geraniums are extremely popular balcony plants. Many people loved them because they are characterized by easy cultivation, strength and long flowering. However, you need to a bit support these specimens during the growth and formation of flower buds. Natural fertilizer from … yeast comes in handy.
Bakery yeast has B vitamins, amino acids, enzymes and minerals, i.e. zinc, selenium, chrome, iron, copper, manganese. Thanks to them, the roots of plants develop properly and their tissues are strengthened. Therefore, specimens take better nutrients from the ground and adapt faster to it after planting or pruning.
In addition, this kitchen product used for cakes improves soil structure and breathability, because it stimulates useful microorganisms. Therefore, regularly fertilized with yeast conditioner, they release new shoots faster and bloom abundantly.
This natural fertilizer can be used for other balcony specimens, i.e. surfine, petunia, fuchsia, verbena, as well as green potted plants. However, avoid fertilization of succulents or cacti intolerating too moist substrates.

There are two recipes for yeast fertilizer. They differ in the number of ingredients, the method of performance and action. So how do you make a natural yeast conditioner?
We dissolve 25 g of fresh yeast in 1 liter of hot water. We immediately water the geraniums once every 2-3 weeks.
- Long -acting fertilizer
Mix 100 G yeast with 1 cup of sugar and 10 liters of water. Set aside such a mixture for a week to start fermenting. Then we dilute it with water in a 1:10 ratio and water the plants with it once a month. This fertilizer is much stronger.
As mentioned, we supply geraniums during the growth and formation of flower buds. So we use yeast fertilizer from May to August.
We fertilize plants after rainfall or abundant watering. Then we will be sure that they will not burn the roots. We do it during a cloudy day or in the morning so that the nutrients do not evaporate too quickly, and the leaves are not burned by the sun.
