The Brazilian industry recorded a positive variation of 0.1% in April 2025 compared to March, considering seasonal adjustment.
The data were released on Tuesday (3.Jun.2025) by (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics). Compared to April 2024, there was a decrease of 0.3%, interrupting 10 months in a row of positive results in interane comparisons.

Among the activities with positive performance, extractive industries advanced 1%, accumulating expansion of 7.5% in 3 consecutive months of growth. The beverage sector grew 3.6%, resuming positive trajectory after zero variation in March and a 0.1% drop in February.
Other relevant contributions to the industrial result came from motor vehicles, trailers and bodies (1%) and printing and reproduction of recordings (11%).
Economic categories
In the analysis by major economic categories, the segment of consumer goods semi and non-dismayable It was the only one to present a negative result between the large categories, with a fall of 1.9% in April, eliminating part of the 2.4% increase in March.

Among the activities that have negatively influenced the industrial result in the interannual comparison are food products (-4.9%), coke, oil-derived products and biofuels (-2.9%), motor vehicles, trailers and bodies (-3.7%) and pharmaceuticals and pharmaceuticals (-9%).
On the other hand, extractive industries had the highest positive impact, with 10.2%growth compared to April 2024. Metallurgy (4.4%), maintenance, repair and installation of machinery and equipment (10.4%), machines and equipment (2.5%), textile products (6.6%), drinks (2.9%) also recorded advances.
