The company is focused on developing brain-computing interfaces (BCI), systems that translate neural signals into commands for external devices.
Neuralink’s first product, called Telepathy, uses 64 ultra -thin strands inserted directly into the brain, capable of capturing signals through 1,024 electrodes. The technology aims to help patients with severe paralysis to recover part of functional independence.

To date, five patients have received Neuralink implants and are able to control digital and physical devices only with thought. The company currently conducts four distinct clinical trials to test the Telepathy system.
Although other companies, such as Synchron, Paradromics, and Precision Neuroscience, also develop BCIs, Neuralink stands out, according to analysts, their advancement and technological ambition.

Among the future goals, Elon Musk has highlighted the possibility of restoring vision in blind patients.
Neuralk received from the US regulatory agency from FDA, the designation of “innovative device” for BlindSight, a technology that can benefit people who have lost their eyes and the optic nerve. Musk said the device will allow these patients to recover their visual capacity.
