Home is the foundation. It gives you safety, comfort, but also a sense of freedom and complete relaxation. Where else should you feel yourself than in your apartment or house? “I live in a studio, which is small as a palm. But I wouldn’t be considered anything for anything,” says Mrs. Běta, who after her husband’s death “released” a three -room municipal apartment in the city center and bought a tiny apartment where it has a view of greenery. “The twenty -eight meters is enough. Plus, I still have a balcony where I can have a coffee and tan a little,” laughs the senior.

For a few crowns a lot of music
Mrs. Běta moved into her cozy apartment eighteen years ago. She likes the surroundings, but the equipment of the apartment over the years has been a bit old. “I would like to replace mainly a seat, oven and possibly even a kitchen,” he plans. But unfortunately these interventions cost a lot of money that the senior does not have at the moment. Therefore, she wonders how to make her apartment special without costing hundreds of thousands of crowns. For this account we asked a home designer who recommended a few simple – and especially cheap – modifications. Get inspired by them.
New curtains will make a lot …
Do you feel that your home looks tired and boring? Give him a touch using hinges! Curtains are available on the market either from synthetic or natural materials. Which are better? “It depends on you. Synthetics (most often polyester) is cheap, well maintainable, but sometimes it can work without shape. On the contrary, natural substances (from flax or cotton) are quickly dirty, but it holds shape in return,” says the designer. According to her, the color of the curtains depends on three factors – the size of the apartment, the amount of light and also on the shades of walls. If you do not want to experiment much, you will never give anything neutral shades such as beige, cream, pink or gray. Drajv to your interior can bring saturated shades that light up in particular smaller space. Sure bet is a yellow or mustard color. Do you want to give the room dynamics using patterns? Why not. Just remember that vertical stripes will optically increase the ceiling and will reduce it vertical. Large patterns are also interesting to create the illusion of smaller rooms. On the other hand, a smaller room “inflates” into larger dimensions.
Get coatings
The decorative pads in the interior create a sense of cosiness and comfort. “There is an unwritten rule that there should be a maximum of 3 – 5 pillows on the couch. When there are more, it immediately gives the impression that you have nowhere to sit down,” warns the expert, adding that when choosing decorative pillows she would reach 40 x 40 cm. The choice of color should correspond to the color of curtains or walls. However, do not be afraid to experiment a little and get a little more pronounced pieces with pictures or deeper colors such as blue, yellow, red or orange. When choosing coat material material, cotton is hypoallergenic and is suitable for a family with more sensitive skin. A good choice is also a microfiber, which is well maintained and is suitable as a variant into the whole apartment. If you don’t have much money, you can also buy a “plastic” – a polyester that dries quickly, wicks sweat and little catches.
Wallpaper or stickers
If you want to give your apartment another esprit, focus on the walls! Decorate them with paintings from the family gallery, posters or reproductions of world masters. Sure bet is various wall stickers or wallpapers. “Currently there are“ In ”organic (natural) motifs such as flowers or trees. If you have a more modern interior, you can also use geometric patterns. Just don’t forget the patterns game – they are large to reduce the space and smaller “give his wings,” says the designer.
