Portugal Presidency Minister António Leitão Amaro said 33,983 people will be notified in the coming days to leave the country voluntarily. Among these, 5,386 are Brazilians.

Immigrants will have 20 days from receipt of notification to voluntarily leave the country. The Portuguese Government may start expulsion processes if the notifieds do not leave within the stipulated period.

According to the newspaper, of the nearly 34,000 immigrants, most are Indians (13,466). Brazilians appear following, followed by Bangladesh immigrants (3,750). Complete the ranking:

  • Nepalese: 3.279;
  • Pakistanis: 1,005;
  • Algerians: 1,054;
  • Moroccans: 603;
  • Colombians: 236;
  • Venezuelans: 234;
  • Argentines: 180;
  • Other nationalities: 2,790.

According to Amaro, Aima (agency for integration, migrations and asylum) notifies about 2,000 immigrants a day to leave Portugal. In just over 1 month, the number of residence orders almost doubled.
