Mohamed Sabry Soliman, the suspect in the anti-Semitic attack on Boulder, Colorado, made his first appearance in a court in the United States on Monday.

Soliman is accused of injuring at least 12 people after using one against a crowd, who participated in. According to the authorities, the suspect shouted “Palestine free!” During the attack on Sunday (1).

Soliman made a brief appearance before the court through a video broadcast. He is in Boulder’s arrest and wore an orange jumpsuit.

He must return to court on Thursday, when state accusations will be made. Soliman did not agree and can only leave prison under a $ 10 million fine.

The suspect may face 384 years in prison if convicted of 16 accusations of attempted first degree murder, according to Boulder prosecutor Michael Dougherty.

He also faces a federal accusation of hatred crime, which causes the maximum penalty of life imprisonment, said the interim US attorney to Colorado district, J. Bishop Grewell, during a press conference.

Other details about the case:

The suspect’s family cooperated with the authorities during the fulfillment of the search and seizure warrant. The suspect lived in Colorado Springs with his wife and five children, according to a statement.

His wife took the suspect’s iPhone to Colorado police after he was arrested.

Although it seems that the man acted alone in the attack, the authorities say they are still investigating all possibilities.

A total of 16 Molotov cocktails were seized after the incident.

According to authorities, the suspect “planned to die” in the attack. Soliman “mentioned several times that he wanted to be dead” in a statement with the police. He said he only threw two Molotov cocktails because he “was scared and had never hurt anyone before.”

Solim told police that no one else knew his plan, that he had planned for over a year.

The man learned to do Molotov cocktails after he was “denied buying a gun.” He was born in Egypt, but lived at Kuwait for 17 years, according to the warrant. He moved to Colorado Springs three years ago and was in the US illegally, according to DHS.
