You can slow down the pace of everyday life a bit, but also get to know the amazing story of both the city and the castle itself, especially during night sightseeing. Undoubtedly, a visit to a historic city and visiting the largest brick castle in the world is an amazing journey in time.

The castle in Malbork is breathtaking

This is undoubtedly the biggest attraction of the city and one of the most important monuments in Poland. This is the largest brick castle in the world, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Its history dates back to the 13th century, when the Teutonic Knights began building a stronghold, which in time became the seat of the Grand Master of the Order. Visiting the castle is a journey in a time that allows you to move to the Middle Ages and feel the atmosphere of religious life. When visiting, you can see, among others:

  • High lock: The oldest part of the castle, with a courtyard, chapel and dormitory.
  • Medium castle: The headquarters of the Grand Master, with representative salami, refectory and kitchen.
  • Palace of Grand Masters: An impressive building with richly decorated interiors.
  • Castle Museum: With a rich collection of exhibits related to the history of the Castle and the Teutonic Order.

In addition to visiting the castle, it is also worth going for a walk on its defensive walls, from where there is a magnificent view of the area and the Nogat River, followed by flights along the walls of the castle.   • Old Town: Charming streets with historic tenements, cafes and restaurants.

Walking around Malbork, it is worth looking carefully to find the metal figurines of the knight Marianka, who is the city mascot and shows tourists interesting places.

Calendar of events and events in Malbork in 2025

Malbork is not only a historic city full of historic attractions. It is worth mentioning that this place literally teeming with life and there is no shortage of events and. One of the largest and at the same time the most spectacular events is, i.e. a great historical staging, which is scheduled for July 18 and 19, 2025. What’s more, during the holiday season, i.e. from July 1 to August 31 in cinnamon stores you will be able to see a multimedia exhibition of photographs of former Malbork. In turn, fans of the film will have a real attraction, i.e. a cinema under the cloud in the garden of the Jerusalem Hospital. The screenings are scheduled for: July 4, July 25 and August 9.
