Minister threatened to arrest former minister for contempt during a statement in defense of Admiral Almir Garnier on May 23
The (Supreme Federal Court) released on Tuesday (3.Jun.2025) the video of the moment when Minister Alexandre de Moraes rebuked the former minister and former federal deputy José Aldo Rebelo and during testimony.
Rebelo deposed on May 23 as a defense witness to Admiral Almir Garnier, former Navy commander in the former president’s government (PL).

“My appreciation of the Portuguese language is mine. I do not admit censorship”said the former deputy. Moraes replied: “The Lord will be arrested for contempt if the Lord does not behave.”
