The new director of the Timon base has been influential behind the scenes of the club for decades. He had already headed the amateur department of the club from 2017 to 2018, under the management of Roberto de Andrade, but at the time divided power with other directors: Carlos Nujud and Jacinto Ribeiro, the Jaça.

The trajectory of Baby in Corinthians began in the 1990swhen he was director of soccer during the title of the Brazilian Championship of 90. Later, between 2007 and 2008, he returned to play the function. He is a member of the Union of Vitalios, an influential group in the Corinthians political scenario.
Nenê replaces Claudinei Alves, linked to former President Augusto Melo. It is not yet defined whether department professionals, such as former Chicão and Potato players, will be kept in their coordination positions or will be turned off.
In his new role, Nenê do Posto will face the challenge of restructuring Corinthians’ grassroots categories, a sector that suffered recent criticism due to the hiring of about 87 players during the previous management.
