50% say government was wrong with IOF’s discharge announcement, points out Quaest

The genius/Quaest poll released on Wednesday, 4, reveals that 50% of Brazilians believe that the federal government has made a mistake by maintaining the increase in the tax on financial operations (IOF) for dollar purchase for individuals and shipments of money for accounts abroad. On the other hand, 28% think it was a hit and 22% did not know or did not respond.

Meanwhile, 41% say the government of Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) agreed to invest investments in backgrounds. Already 36% say that the petista management made a mistake and 23% did not know or did not respond.

There were 2,004 interviews face to face with Brazilians 16 years or older between May 29 and June 1. The margin of error is two percentage points and the confidence level is 95%.
