In the last sign of the growing dissent in the Kremlin Army, a Russian commander of a unit located in the front line near the city of Sudzha, in the Russian region of Kursk, has urged the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, to stop the war in Ukraine, as reported by the newspaper .

A part of the region, including Sudzha, was taken by Ukrainian troops last August and since then they were forced to withdraw after their supply lines were cut. Meanwhile, Putin troops have suffered huge casualties in just over three years of fighting in their struggle to achieve important territorial advances.

The Ukrainian army estimates that the Russians have suffered more than 988,000 casualties, including injuries and dead, during the bloody war unleashed by Putin in February 2022. Despite suffering some of its greatest losses in the campaign last year, when at least 45,287 soldiers died, the Putin army only managed to recover 0.6% of additional land, according to the British medium.

The commander has now granted an interview with the Russian military blogger known as Maxim Kalashnikov on condition of anonymity, in which he has ruled on the endless massacre, urging the Russian leader to reach a peace agreement with Ukraine.

When the blogger has asked him what he was willing to do to achieve victory over Ukraine, the officer has responded without surroundings: “The war would stop completely. Unfortunately, this war will not end until we kill each other completely stupidly.”

“They are like us. They will not give up and we will not give up. This will continue until we kill or mutilate each other, and then the third enemy will come and kill us both,” he added.
