The Broadcast Companies award ceremony enshrined on Tuesday night (3) the main highlights of the financial market in 2024.
Held in São Paulo, the event brought together economists, businessmen, analysts and authorities in the sector on a night marked by honors, debates and reflections on the global economic scenario.
The program began at 6.30 pm and was conducted by the Broadcast special reporter in Brasilia, Célia Sobfe, and the anchor of CNN MoneyFernando Nakagawa.
One of the highlights of the night was the talk of economist Nouriel Roubini, internationally recognized for anticipating the 2008 financial crisis, which brought in-depth analysis on the impacts of Donald Trump’s tariffs, the impacts of artificial intelligence on global Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and the geopolitical commercial environment after COVID-19 pandemia.
Roubini’s presence was highlighted by Broadcast CEO Denis Piovezan, who classified this year’s edition as the largest in the history of the award.
“The importance of the event is the relevance of the challenging moment we lived. The prize has existed for 27 years, but it was in a few situations that we had such a challenge in the market and the economy,” said Piovezan.
“Professor Roubini’s choice has to do with what has been happening in geopolitics, Trump’s fare, the commercial conflict between China and the United States and potential impacts to Brazil. We hope to deliver a lecture that open new ideas and help in potential future projections,” he concluded.
The ceremony marked the delivery of three recognized awards: the 27th edition of the Broadcast Analysts Award, the 19th edition of the Broadcast Projections Award and the 25th edition of the Broadcast Enterprises Award.
The C6 Bank was the highlight of the year, leading the ranking in the general top and basic top categories of 2024.
