This Wednesday (04), the Supreme Court Minister (STF), ordered the pre-trial detention of Federal Deputy Carla Zambelli (PL-SP), in response to a request from the Attorney General’s Office (PGR).
However, the deputy had announced last Tuesday (03), which is no longer in Brazil. She left the country, went to the United States, and from there intends to go to Italy, where she wants to settle.
Therefore, for the Federal Police (PF), the name of Zambelli must be included in Interpol’s red diffusion list. From that moment, the parliamentarian is considered as fugitive.
The insertion of the name acts as an international alert to locate and grasp the person in question.
Criminal lawyer Anderson Lopes, Master in Criminal Procedure from USP, explains that the process will be this way from now on:
“Minister Alexandre de Moraes will send the arrest warrant to the Brazilian Federal Police, who, in turn, upon receiving the arrest warrant, Interpol will share the request with all countries that are part of the criminal body – because there is no exact news of the location of the deputy or, even if the current whereabouts are known.
Criminal lawyer Bruno Salles had already advanced to the CNN that where it has citizenship, after the issuance of the warrant of pre -trial detention and also the inclusion of its name in the red diffusion.
“It is up to the PF to ask her name to include her name” Red Diffusions ” – the Red Diffusion – from Interpol. If this happens and she passes the airport, it can be arrested,” says criminal lawyer Bruno Salles.
What is Interpol?
The International Criminal Police Organization is responsible for assisting the police of the countries that are part of it.
Currently, 196 countries are members of Interpol. They can all share and access data on crimes, criminals and fugitives.
Each of these countries has an Interpol National Central Office (NCB), which connects the application of national law with other countries and the general secretary of the organization.
