The green world is a folk name of the church holiday, which is the Sunday of Pentecost, which This year it falls on June 8. This is moving celebrations depending on Easter. One of the most important folk traditions of this holiday is the special decorating of the house.

One of the most famous traditions related to Pentecost is the so -called having houses. It involves decorating the house with green branches. On Sunday, March 8, you should place at the door, after paintings or at the windows of the branches of selected plants. According to the beliefs of our ancestors, it is to bring the home thresholds and protect the inhabitants from unlucky.

Branches should be placed primarily at the door – Because it is the entrance that is to let in and release prosperity from the area of ​​the house. In some regions, fumes and wells were also decorated with branches, but to use this ritual, it is enough to put a few branches by the image or attach the door around. They can also be attached next to the windows. (A plant resembling high grass) can be poured in front of the entrance, e.g. place a few blades under the wiper.

Most often, birch and linden branches are used for decorating houses in the green world. Nevertheless, you can also use a hornbeam and beech. A calamus was also used for having houses, which was connected to branches, but it was usually poured onto the floor. Several branches can be tied (preferably red, because it is also supposed to bring happiness) and placed at the external doors, they can also be hung on the gutter at the garage. It is only important that they are close to the entrance.

Such a ritual is to bring us a lot of luck in the coming months – it is worth following the example of ancestors and try it out, because who knows, maybe fate will notice us and will be more willing to send a prosperity.
