Levoča self -government believes that they will present a rare bust in Levoča. In this context, the city management recently negotiated with the director of the Slovak National Museum (SNM) – Spiš Museum Ján Pavlov. Both sides agreed that their common interest is that this precious work is available to the public in Levoča, where it has a significant historical, cultural and symbolic value.
The municipality informed about this on the social network in connection with the recent transport of a rare marble bust depicting Cecilia Gonzaga, which was credited with experts to the Renaissance master Donatell.
“Several professional and safety requirements need to be met to make this work available. It introduced a city that will continue to communicate with the museum to ensure adequate conditions for the return and dignified presentation of this important work. The Mayor of the City Miroslav Vilkovský also asked the Minister of Culture of the Slovak Republic Martina Šimkovičová (CIS nominee) for the admission and working meeting concerning this topic.

The ministry responded that a work such as a bust of Cecilia Gonzaga cannot be kept in a standard depository.
It needs a comprehensive security regime at a level that is currently not met by any museum or gallery in Slovakia. The spokeswoman of the resort Petra Bačinská assured that the transport was carried out in full compliance with the law. She noted that he was preparing in close cooperation with experts and security for several weeks.
