Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa was confronted this Wednesday at the Lisbon Book Fair by a woman. The President of the Republic was accused of inaction, given the humanitarian crisis in Palestine, while holding nthe activist’s neck.
During the visit to the 95th edition of the Lisbon Book Fair, MARCELO REBELO DE SOUSA was challenged by a woman who approached a poster in which she read “There is a genocide of Palestine”.
The activist accused the President of the Republic and the Portuguese government to do nothing about the humanitarian crisis lived in the Gaza Strip.
“The President of the Republic does nothing about this matter; the Prime Minister does nothing; this government does nothing; and This is the most urgent subject of our time“He considered, before the journalists.
The head of state tried to challenge the activist, who, in turn, did not let Marcelo, arguing that the president “has all the time in the world to speak, if he wants, and the citizen do not have.”
“There will be a demonstration today at 6 pm, in Camões, and I ask all the people who care and who care about children who appear, please. It’s very important,” he said.
Marcelo tried to dialogue with his wife while holding her in the cachaço. “You have to hear me. Don’t hear me why?” Asked Marcelo.
However, the activist refused, asking her not to touch her neck while affirming the reasons why she didn’t want to hear him.
“Don’t grab me around your neckMr. President. Tell journalists, don’t tell me (…) I already know the president’s explanations we have, ”he said, before leaving.
Did I just see the President of the Republic squeeze the neck to this woman? This must be the worst minute of Marcelo’s presidency. Horrible.
