Republican says Chinese president is “very difficult” to negotiate; White House says connection with China leader can occur this week
United States President Donald Trump (Republican Party) said on Wednesday (4.Jun.2025) that “it is very difficult” to make an agreement with Chinese leader Xi Jinping.
“I like President XI of China, I always liked it and I will always like it, but it is very difficult and extremely hard to make a deal !!!”He wrote on his profile on the Truth Social platform.
The statement is under possible contact between the two presidents, scheduled for the coming days.
The White House reported on Monday (2.Jun.2025) that presidents should talk later this week. The date was not disclosed. The theme should be trade tariffs between the 2 countries.
“I can confirm that the 2 leaders will probably talk this week”White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told journalists. She didn’t provide more details.
China has not given any indication that it agreed with a connection between Chinese leader and Trump, who insists that a conversation between China and the US is necessary to resolve the commercial dispute between countries.
