Defenders of the nomination of lawyer Vera Lúcia Santana de Araújo for a place in the Superior Electoral Court () argue that she would be the first black woman to hold the position of holder minister at the Court.
She makes up a triple list of women alone alongside Estela Aranha, advisor to Minister Carmen Lúcia and former advisor to the Ministry of Justice, and lawyer Cristina Maria Gama Neves da Silva, TRE-DF subjectituda-supporter. President Lula should choose one of three in the coming weeks.
Today, Vera Lúcia is the TSE’s Substitute Minister. Recently, she was barred at the entrance of the headquarters of AGU, in Brasilia, even after identifying herself as a speaker at an event promoted by the Public Ethics Commission of the Presidency of the Republic.
