Dodik will visit Budapest at the invitation of Orban. Discussions will focus on cooperation in economic issues and the stability of the region.
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán invited Milorad Dodika, who announced this on Wednesday on the Platform X on Wednesday, to inform the TASR newsletter in Budapest on Wednesday.
Dodik did not specify the meeting time. “With Prime Minister Orban, I will discuss strategic projects in the field of energy and agriculture, because the Republic of Serbia wants to build an economy with those who understand and respect us,” said the leader of the Bosnian Serbs.
Strategic discussions
As he added, Hungary is now a symbol of state policy that protects its people, its boundaries and its way of life, and is therefore a natural ally of RS.
Orbán met Dodik in Budapest on February 17. “The position of Hungary is clear. The stability of the region is key to Europe and dialogue is essential to preserve it. This is exactly what the President Dodik has been brought about in recent years: a stable and prosperous Republic of Serbia,” Orbán wrote on Platform X.
Dodika in March in Bosnia was sentenced to a year of imprisonment and a six -year prohibition of political activity for disregarding the UN High Representatives for Bosnia and Herzegovina Christian Schmidt. He supervises the adherence to the Dayton Peace Agreement, which has terminated the war. Bosnianski Serbs do not recognize Schmidt’s legitimacy.
The Bosnian judiciary also issued a warrant for Dodika. Nor did it prevent him from traveling to Serbia, Israel or Russia, where he then returned to his homeland. Subsequently, he was also issued an international arrest warrant.
In April, the Bosnian state police Sipa tried to arrest Dodika, but it was prevented by the Ministry of the Interior of the RS. Schmidt announced in April that he had issued an order to stop the allocation of all budget resources to the Dodik party.
