Amazon (BDR:) is preparing tests with humanoid robots aimed at deliveries, according to the site report The Information released on Wednesday (4). The initiative is part of the company’s efforts to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) into its logistics operation, with the potential to replace human workers in delivery functions.
According to the publication, Amazon is finalizing the construction of a “humanoid park”, a kind of indoor obstacle track located in one of its offices in San Francisco, United States. The place will be used to test robots equipped with AI software being developed by the company itself.
The hardware of the robots used in the initial tests will come from other companies, according to the report. Amazon, however, has not officially commented on the project.

The announcement occurs on the same day that the company presented a series of updates in its logistics infrastructure, highlighting how artificial intelligence will be used to improve the performance of inventory robots, delivery and distribution centers, with the aim of accelerating packets to consumers.
The report of The Information was cited by the agency Reuterswho said he could not independently confirm the information so far.
