The president of Brazil, Lula da Silva, was received this Thursday morning by the French President, Emmanuel Macron, in Paris. It is the first state visit of a Brazilian president to France in 12 years.
Lula da Silva will debate international crises and the free trade agreement between the European Union and Mercosur countries, to which Paris opposes. This Wednesday will have a work lunch at the Eliseu Palace with Emmanuel Macron and, soon, a state dinner.
During this four -day visit, the signing of a dozen agreements in the fields of the environment, technology, defense, energy and health is expected to be signed.
The relations between France and Paris were ended during the presidency of Jair Bolsonaro and one of Macron’s priorities at the diplomatic level has been to try to restore relations between the two countries.
