Large forest fires in Canada force more than 31,000 people to flee

Winnipeg/Montreal – because of the large forest fires in Canada, the authorities have ordered further evacuations. By Wednesday, more than 31,000 people were instructed to get to safety in front of the flames. The fire brigade is now struggling across the country against more than 200 fire, which have already destroyed more than 2.2 million hectares of land – an area larger than Israel. So far, more than half of the fire has not been brought under control.
