Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), determined on Wednesday (4) the opening of investigation against Deputy Carla Zambelli (PL-SP), who after being, by obstruction of justice and coercion in the course of the proceedings of the coup.

“The various interviews of the defendant, on 6/6/2025, indicate that their escape from the national territory is covered, in addition to the attempt to prevent the application of the criminal law, also, in the reiteration of criminal conduct to attack against the institutions, through disallowance to disbelief of Brazilian democratic institutions and to interfere with the progress of lawsuits in this Court,” Moraes says in the decision.

The minister also determined that the Federal Police monitors and preserve the content published by the deputy on social networks.

“Because of being outside the national territory, I define the possibility that the clarifications of Carla Zambelli Salgado de Oliveira will be given in writing and to be notified even by his electronic addresses.”

Earlier this Wednesday, the minister, who announced on Tuesday his departure from Brazil. She was sentenced in May to 10 years in prison by the First Class of the Supreme Court.
