“These nurses are not guaranteed that tomorrow continue employees,” says Alfredo Gomes of the Portuguese Nurses Union. There are 70 professionals with precarious contracts in Viseu, some since the time of COVID-19.
Two unions of health professionals report cases of labor precariousness at the Viseu Hospital. There are 70 nurses with precarious contracts, some since the time of COVID-19.
Alfredo Gomes, from (SEP), states that the situation is unjustifiable.
“These nurses are not guaranteed that tomorrow continue employed. In an institution, which if they needed another 50 nurses, it is not understood how these nurses do not contract without a term,” says Alfredo Gomes.
“I warn that we are in June. It will start the holiday period and as it is traditional in this country, journalists will run the country to say that everywhere nurses are doing X more hours to ensure care to sick. The number of nurses is not enough,” he adds.
This protest joins the diagnostic technicians. There are about 300 throughout the ULS of Viseu Darm-Lafões.
