To survive in Brazil, Visa INC has just announced the launch of Visa Connecta, a technology and financial movement company, which will provide payment initiation by Pix. The announcement was made by Leonardo Enrique Silva, executive director of Visa Connecta and former Open Finance director of Visa, at a news conference on Wednesday (5).
Visa Connecta Payment Initiation Solution will allow only one click, after initial authorization from the account
consumer. The option can be offered by e-commerce, investment brokerages, companies utilitiessuch as energy, gas and water distributors, and other companies that want to offer the option of instant payment without redirecting to their customers.
The pilot is scheduled for September 2025 and marks Visa’s first initiative that goes beyond the traditional card business.

The initiative comes from the rapid growth of digital payments outside the traditional card model, especially in Brazil, where 35% of e-commerce transactions already use Pix as a means of payment. Despite the popularity of the Pix, the current purchase finishing process still faces significant challenges, such as the high rate of cart abandonment due to the friction caused by automatic redirect to the bank application during the purchase completion
Leonardo Enrique Silva pointed out that the creation of Visa Connecta represents an important milestone for the company: “If there is financial movement, that’s where we will be.” He also stressed that “a lot happened” so that this new company was created in a company as traditional as Visa, reflecting the evolution of the market and the commitment to lead the digital transformation in the financial sector.
Visa Connecta uses Tink technology and is part of the Visa Inc group, a global company based in Delaware, United States.
