Chinese Foreign Ministry says the White House harms the US image and reputation
China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman, Lin Jian, said Thursday (5.Jun.2025) that the Chinese government will protect the interests of Chinese students who are removed from exchange programs at Harvard University because of the 6-month suspension announced by the White House.
Lin Jian did not give details of what China studies doing to allow students to enter the US University, but said Donald Trump’s policy hurts the US image and reputation before other countries.
“Sino-American educational cooperation is mutually beneficial. China has always opposed the politicization of educational cooperation. The practices of the American side will only damage the international image and reputation of the United States. China will firmly safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese students and academics abroad.”declared the spokesman for the Chinese government.
Lin Jian was questioned by journalists about Trump’s decree that restricts US entry of citizens from 12 countries, including Afghanistan and Iran. He said China monitors the White House decisions and that the exchange of people is a practice of collaboration between all countries.
Chinese companies in US Bags
The Chinese government spokesman also commented on the US SEC (SEC) vote that requested public opinions about possible new rules for foreign companies listed on US scholarships.
The organization said Chinese companies benefit from the less regular disclosure of information to investors. Lin Jian claimed to be another US attempt to undermine foreign companies and escape the principle of free market.
“The US must respect the market principle of loyal competition, stop politicizing economic and commercial issues, and provide a fair, equitable and non -discriminatory business environment for companies from all countries, including Chinese. China will take the necessary measures to resolutely safeguard the rights and legitimate interests of Chinese companies.”these.
