Research indicates seizure of voters in relation to the petista’s aptitude, who is 79 years old, for a possible new term
GENIAL RESEARCH/QUAREST released this Friday (6.JUN.2025) shows that 66% of Brazilians are concerned with the President’s physical and mental health to command the Presidency of the Republic. Lula is 79 years old and, if reelected in 2026, would end his 4th term at the age of 85.
The survey was conducted from May 29 to June 1, 2025. 2,004 people were interviewed 16 years or older in 120 Brazilian municipalities. The confidence interval is 95%. The error margin is 2 percentage points, more or less.
The survey shows that 29% of respondents have no concern about Lula’s health to be president, while 5% did not respond or said they did not care. This is the research (PDF – 3 MB).
Among the voters who voted for Lula in the 2nd round of the 2022 elections, 71% said they worry about the president’s health, while 26% say they do not worry and 3% did not respond or said they did not know.
Already among those who voted in (PL), 67% said they worry about whether Lula would be healthy for a possible 4th term and 30% stated that they did not worry.
The percentage also remains similar among those who declare themselves “Lulistas/Petistas” or among those who do not necessarily support the president, but consider themselves left: 69% and 70% care about the health of the petista and 29% and 28% do not worry, respectively.
The percentages differ in the group of people who consider themselves a scholarship. In this clipping, 36% said they did not worry about the health of the president, while 62% worry. Among those who are not supporters of Bolsonaro, but declare themselves from the right, 70% worry about Lula’s health and 27% said they did not worry.
