After exceptional performance, winning the ‘Triple Crown’ (Laliga, King’s Cup and Spanish Super Cup), the Brazilian striker, was elected the best player of the championship in season 2024-25 on Friday (6). The 28-year-old, with 18 goals and 9 assists at Laliga, surpassed his teammate Lamine Yamal, who was elected the best under-23 player, and French striker Kylian Mbappé, who ended as Laliga’s top scorer (31 goals) in his first year at Real Madrid. In all competitions, Raphinha scored 34 goals and gave 25 assists in 56 matches.
At the club since 2022, coming from Leeds for nearly € 60 million (about $ 384 million for the current price), the player renewed his contract on May 22 by 2028. Raphinha could have left Barcelona before the current season, when the board tried to hire Ponta Nico Williams of Athletic Bilbao. In the end, the striker decided to be thanks to the confidence shown by German coach Hansi Flick, who placed him as one of the captains.
