Former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) is in Sao Paulo on Friday, 6, to meet with his defense lawyers before giving testimony next week to the Supreme Court Minister (STF), Alexandre de Moraes, as a defendant in the alleged coup attempt after the 2022 election.
He landed in São Paulo around 2:25 pm after attending a PL woman event in Brasilia in the morning.
As usual when it comes to the city, Bolsonaro will be staying in the residential wing of the Bandeirantes Palace, headquarters of the government of São Paulo and residence of Governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans).

An interlocutor from Tarcisio told the Estadão That Bolsonaro’s meetings with the lawyers will not take place at Bandeirantes, a change from 2023, when the former president had meetings on site to discuss the defense strategy in the case of Saudi jewels, revealed by Estadão in March of that year.
According to this same source, Bolsonaro fulfills his commitments in São Paulo and will only go to Bandeirantes later this Friday.
Moraes scheduled to start it from next Monday, 9, the interrogation of the defendants of the “First Core”, a group composed of eight people accused by the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) for attempted coup. One of them is Bolsonaro. The defendants are scheduled to last until the 13th. The first questioned will be Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid.

In a speech at the event in Brasilia, the former president summoned the supporters to watch the statement next week, which will be broadcast live.
“What happened in 2022, for sure, will be spoken by me when live is in the Supreme, the five ministers in front of me, and charging. It is worth watching. I count on your audience. I do not go to seal, to challenge anyone,” said Bolsonaro.
“I start now to Sao Paulo. An unforeseen call, finding lawyers until Saturday. So we can better prepare to face challenges. No one will find us. It’s time for truth. And she will be present, in my view, for the sake of this nation,” Bolsonaro added.

Tarcísio unchecked a meeting scheduled for 3:30 pm on Friday with Deputy Governor, Felício Ramuth (PSD), and the mayor of Sao Paulo, Ricardo Nunes (MDB), to deal with the project of the new administrative center of the government of São Paulo, which will be built in the central region of the capital.
The reason for the cancellation, which departed from Tarcisio management, was not informed. The other agendas of the governor are maintained. He receives at 6 pm Princess Kako, from Japan, who will be awarded the order of Ipiranga, the highest honor granted by the State of Sao Paulo. On Saturday, Tarcisio travels to Indaiatuba and Capivari to follow the graduations of the first cycle of the Caminho da Training Program.
Tarcisio testified last week as Bolsonaro’s defense witness and said the former president “never” spoke in a coup. Bolsonaro is accused of leading a plot to prevent the inauguration of Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT), who defeated him in the 2022 elections.

“Never, never,” replied the chief executive of São Paulo when questioned at the STF if he became aware of Bolsonaro’s intention to take a coup during five visits he made to the ally between November and December 2022.
“Just as I had never happened during my period as a minister, in the visits I did, in various conversations, he never touched this subject and mentioned any attempted rupture,” Tarcisio continued.
