Company will rent 18 motor diesel to two years. Delayed works and there is no alternative circulating material.
A CP – Comboios de Portugal will rent 18 motor diesel two years, for 4.9 million euros“Due to the delays registered in the execution of works of the electrification” of lines and the “no alternative circulating material”.
According to a Ordinance published in (DR), the CP is authorized to “assume multi -annual charges for hiring for the“ Diesel 592 Diesel Rental for providing non -electrified lines ”up to the global Euro 4,960,720.30.
The text states that “due to delays registered in the execution of Electrification Works rail infrastructure and due to No alternative circulating materialthe need to extend the rental in question for a period of 24 months. ”
At stake is “the provision of the public rail transport service in the non -electrified lines of the Douro e West and the international service Porto-Vigo ”.
The Porto-Vigo service is done on the Minho line, which is already fully electrified, but as the electrical voltage is different in Portugal and Spain, and not rented biteration locomotives, it has to be done using diesel material.
Locomotives have been rented to Spanish Renfe, And the extension of the contract covers charges until 2028, with 2.4 million by 2026, 2.1 million in 2027 and 355 thousand euros in 2028.
The Ordinance is dated May 27 and was signed by the Secretary of State and Budget, José Maria Brandão de Brito, and the Secretary of State for Mobility, Cristina Pinto Dias.
