The head of the Ukrainian presidential office, Andrei Yermak, said Friday that the president of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelenski, and his American counterpart, Donald Trump, could meet during the G7 summit, which will be held from June 15 to 17 in the Canadian city of Kananaskis. Yermak has explained in statements to the press that his recent visit to the United States was aimed, among other issues, preparing a possible meeting between the two leaders, as collected by the Ukrainian television channel 24. Trump and Zelenski saw themselves last April 26 shortly before attending the funeral of Pope Francis in the Plaza de San Pedro in the capital of Italy anger that starred in the White House last February. The tycoon has been “open” to carry out a summit with Zelenski and with the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, to advance the peace conversations between the parties in a meeting that could be sponsored by the Turkish leader, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
