The suspect is accused of painting graffiti in public and private buildings, as well as in trains, causing damage evaluated in about 16,000 euros. In addition, it is accused of assaulting a citizen during these activities.

A 32 -year -old foreign citizen with a European detention mandate on suspicion of 11 damage crimes through ‘graffiti’ in buildings and trains in Sweden was arrested in Leiria, the Judicial Police (PJ) announced on Saturday.

“The Judiciary Police, through the Criminal Information Unit, located and detained, in the Leiria area, a foreign citizen, in compliance with a European detention warrant, issued by Sweden’s judicial authorities,” he said.

According to a press release, the 32 -year -old man was sought for criminal proceedings on suspicion of the “practice of 11 crimes of damage and a crime of” physical integrity offenses.

“Throughout the year 2021, in a city of Sweden, painted ‘grafitti’ on several facades, walls and doors of public and private buildings,” he said.

The suspect “also painted ‘graffiti’ in train carriages, causing a damage evaluated in about 181,200 Swedish crowns,” the equivalent of about 16,000 euros.

“In addition to these crimes it is also accused of, in this activity, having assaulted a citizen, pushing him to the floor, kicking him and stepping his face and chest,” said the PJ.

The citizen will be present to the Coimbra Court of Appeal, for the application of a coercion measure.
