Russia has accused Ukraine of delaying the exchange of prisoners and bodies of fallen soldiers. Kiev denied charges and declared that the deadline was not fixed.

Russia accused Ukraine on Saturday of unexpectedly postponing the planned exchange of prisoners and bodies of fallen soldiers indefinitely. Kiev then denied it that the date was not fixed for the exchange. He added, however, that it could take place “in the coming days”. At the same time, he accused Moscow of playing “dirty games” and “manipulations” in connection with her claims, writes TASR, according to DPA, AFP and TASS reports.

In the exchange of hundreds of prisoners of war – severely ill or persons under 25 – and also the bodies of fallen soldiers Kiev and Moscow agreed on Monday’s second round of negotiations in Istanbul. The exchange should cover more than 1,000 prisoners and about 6000 bodies of the fallen – on each side, says AFP.

Russia apparently waited on the spot

On Saturday, however, advisor to Russian President Vladimir Medinsky, who led a Russian delegation in Istanbul, accused Ukraine of the unexpected postponement of this exchange. Medinskij said that the Russian side is waiting at the site of the agreed exchange with 1212 frozen bodies of fallen Ukrainian soldiers in refrigerated boxes with another 6,000 agreed bodies are also on the road.

According to his words, the Russian side is waiting at the agreed place at the border, but the Ukrainian reportedly did not appear there. He added that Russia has handed over Kiev in advance a list of 640 prisoners of war, which it plans to return to it during this exchange.

Russia has determined the date itself, refers to Kiev

Ukraine countered by saying that it did not postpone the exchange in any way, as it has not yet been set for a specific date. However, the Coordination Staff in Kiev said it should occur “in the coming days”.

The crew further explained that Russia has determined the date of exchange without agreing with Kiev. In this context, he accused Moscow of playing “dirty games” and called for a return to the so -called. constructive work. He also announced that the Kiev of the Russian side also handed over a list of the names of the prisoners, which he plans to return to it as part of the upcoming exchange.
