Trump warns Musk: “It can suffer very serious consequences” if the Democrats finance

The US president will not want to deport immigrant Musk, as Steve Bannon suggested, because he is “too busy with other things.” And he says it’s “a pity” to see Musk “like this.” Like this? “So depressed, heartbroken”

In a telephone interview with NBC News, Donald Trump said on Saturday that Elon Musk will “face very serious consequences” if he decides to fund democratic candidates who compete against Republicans. “If you do, you will have to pay the consequences of this,” Trump said, refusing, however, to specify what kind of consequences they are. And he returned to the cargo, insisting: “You will have to pay very serious consequences if you do that.”

The president also made it clear that he has no intention to resume the relationship with Elon Musk, after a public rupture that this week took over the media space. “No,” he replied, in a whip, when asked if he wanted to reconcile with the Tesla and Spacex boss. And when asked if the relationship between the two had come to an end, Trump did not hesitate, “I assume yes.”

These statements have been the most detailed since both were involved in an exchange of accusations and provocations – Musk No X (former Twitter); Trump on your social truth platform. The president stressed that despite the conflict, the Republican party has never been so cohesive. “We are more united than ever,” he said. And it was even further: “even more united than three days ago.”

About Musk, guaranteed not having plans to talk. “I’m too busy with other things,” he said. “Therefore, I have no intention of talking to him.”

Then the head of state went further, accusing the billionaire of “lack of respect for the position of president.” “It’s very serious. It has been very disrespectful. And you can’t disrespect the position of president of the United States,” he said.

On Thursday, Musk had fired a series of X publications against Trump. One of them – however erased – recovered the former president’s old calls to the late sexual abuser and also pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Trump reacted, classifying the episode as an “old news.” “This is already spoken for years,” he said Saturday. “Even Epstein’s lawyer said I had nothing to do with it. It’s just old news.”

Prior to the public explosion, Musk was already criticizing the budgetary package (a large -scale proposal and approved by the Chamber of Representatives) promoted by the Republicans. In the oval room, Trump responded to Musk’s criticism with disappointment: “I’m very disappointed. Elon knew the intricacies of this budget. We help him a lot.” Soon after, Musk intensified the attacks, including an appeal (also already removed) impeachment From Trump and another warning that the fees of the president’s new economic agenda could dive the US in a “recession” later this year.

Trump did not let it go clear and wrote in Truth Social that “he didn’t care that Elon would turn against him, but he should have done it months earlier,” implying that Musk already knew the content of the budget proposal before his approval. And he launched an implicit threat: “The easiest way to save millions of millions in our budget is to cancel Elon’s subsidies and public contracts.” He referred to state supports to Spacex: “It always surprised me that Biden never did!”

This Saturday, in an interview at NBC, and confronted with these words, Trump retreated slightly, saying that he had no longer reflected on the subject. “I could do it, yes, but I didn’t think about it anymore.”

Also about the appeals of figures such as Steve Bannon – who require federal investigations into commercial operations and mush’s migratory historical – Trump was something laconic, devaluing. “It’s not something that is at the top of my list,” he admitted.

It also devalued the idea that Musk’s opposition to the bill dubbed “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” could compromise its Senate approval. “I am very confident that it will be approved before July 4th,” said Trump. More: it ensured that the controversy with Musk even helped. “I think Elon, deep down, showed the virtues of the budget. He made those who were distracted now pay attention. They saw that the project is good.” And he fell with a touch of disdain: “In this sense, it was a great favor. But it’s a shame to see Elon like this – so depressed, so broken heart.”

Elon Musk was one of the great financiers of the Trump campaign in 2024, having invested more than $ 250 million in key states. Already with Trump in the presidency, was entrusted to the direction of government efficiency-where he led mass disqualification and the partial or total closure of various federal agencies.
