The State Secretariat of Penitentiary Administration (Seap) of Maranhão prevented, on Saturday (7), a attempted escape at the São Luís Regional Penitentiary. A detainee tried to get out of the unit disguised as a woman, wearing a wig and women’s clothingwith the help of a visitor.

According to Seap, the woman entered the prison unit using the accessories that were then delivered internally. Dressed in disguise, the prisoner tried to leave during the closing of visits, but was identified by security agents.
The attempted escape was frustrated, and both the detainee and the visitor were filed and taken to the police station, according to the security protocols and procedures.
In a statement, Seap stated that it maintained its commitment to order, legality and security in the state’s prison system.
