Midfielder Jorginho, recently hired by Flamengo, was presented by the club on Saturday (07/06) and replied if he will have physical conditions to compete in the Club World Cup.
– My condition is something I will find out in the coming days. I had a stop, my last game was on May 25, but I performed all the exams and I’ve trained today. I’m feeling good and eager to play. The question of acting the 90 minutes and starting playing is no longer with me -joked Jorginho.

The Italian naturalized Brazilian has hardly entered the field since April 12, when he acted 90 minutes through Arsenal against Brentford.
Since that date, he worked for a few minutes on May 18, against Newcastle, playing only in the second half of that match.
Jorginho will have only one week of training to physically prepare for the World Cup. The debut of the red-black in the tournament will be on June 16, against the Tunis species.
The athlete had to terminate with Arsenal before the end of his contract to be available to the Red-Black to the World Cup. Jorginho stressed the importance of the competition.
– The desire to live all here is so great that we end up doing a lot. I am very happy for the decision I made. And the expectation for the World Cup is very high. It’s an international competition that I really want to play too. I believe this is (the decision to terminate before the end of the contract) -explained the midfielder.
What number of Jorginho’s shirt in Flamengo?
Jorginho will wear shirt 21 in Flamengo. At the news conference, the player revealed why he chose the number.
– Shirt 21 has several reasons. I received the list with some available numbers and was in doubt between one or two. I chose 21 because it was the most important year of my career, with all the achievements that gave me the greatest joy. I hope the number brings me luck so I can have many joys wearing this shirt. It is the DDD of Rio de Janeiro, the date of birth of one of my children… It is a number that has already been, is being and will be very special to me -he said.

Jorginho quoted the year 2021 as the most important of his career due to the title of Euro with Italy. The euro would be held in 2020, but was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
In that tournament, Jorginho was a starter in all games in Italy, playing every minute of the team in the competition. In the final against England, Jorginho lost his penalty kick in the decision for penalties, but the Italians were champions yet after Baka also wasted their charge.
That same year, he was also champion twice for Chelsea: Champions League, beating Manchester City in the decision, and the UEFA Super Cup against Sevilla on penalties. In 2022, he was champion of the Club World Cup in an old format, beating Palmeiras in the decision.
