The one of issuing an arrest warrant against a woman last Tuesday (3), but used someone’s CPF: the journalist, UOL columnist. He was approached by by twice because of the request for imprisonment.
The warrant was included in the warrant database (National Council of Justice). The PM put the journalist among its search targets, and on Saturday morning (7), on their way to UOL to introduce UOL News, Sakamoto’s car was stopped by the corporation, which pointed to rifles and pistols against the journalist’s face.
The Sakamoto CPF has no resemblance to the true number of the woman, who was convicted by. Her document included in the Paraná court process until January 2024, at least. Then the case was a secret of justice.
The arrest warrant against the woman, using the CPF of Sakamoto, was signed by Judge Sergio Decker of the Criminal Court of Nova Esperança (PR).
All other data in the request – Foto, ID, date and place of birth and affiliation – belong to the woman. At some point, her CPF was exchanged for by the journalist, and is the national number that used as a reference for police searches.
It is unlikely to have a typing error, because the CPF has two verification digits, generated by mathematical formula, precisely to avoid errors and ensure authenticity.
Police approaches to the UOL columnist took place at Rua da Consolação and Avenida Duque de Caxias, in the center of.
The police reported that the journalist had an open arrest warrant for murder. When consulting the registration, however, they found that it was a 27 -year -old woman. Sakamoto, who has no mandate in his name, was released.
But his data is still linked to the arrest warrant. Therefore, he heard from the police the recommendation to stop using his, linked to his CPF, so as not to be approached again.
“I am prevented from using the car and walking on the street because I risk being arrested by the PM for a crime with which I have no relationship,” says Sakamoto.
The São Paulo Secretariat of Public Security said that “determined the reconfiguration of the São Paulo police system to block the error of the federal system, until the Paraná Judiciary or the CNJ correct the error of the launch.”
The journalist’s lawyers will request the correction of the CPF in the arrest warrant. They will also ask the error to be communicated to police authorities across the country. They will also file a request from habeas corpus in favor of the journalist in the court of Paraná and São Paulo.
The Paraná Court of Justice was sought but did not comment. In case of positioning, the text will be updated.
The Abraji (Brazilian Association of Investigative Journalism) requested calculation on the case.
“The judiciary and police need to explain the procedures that were adopted and how it happened. The allegation of error does not convince, given that the numbers [de CPF] They are very different, “says the entity.
“It catches the eye and concern the fact that the action is directed to a journalist with a remarkable critical action on police action. Sakamoto risks this situation and this scenario needs to be reversed immediately,” Abraji continues.
In recent years, Sakamoto has been the victim of threats. It has been physically assaulted on the street more than once, received death threats and became the target of forged defamation campaigns.
The Federal and the United Nations (the United Nations), of which Sakamoto was a counselor in Geneva, have already requested investigations to the Brazilian government on threats and violence against the journalist.
