PF holds “orange” for money laundering and criminal organization in RJ

The Federal Police (PF) arrested a man suspected of acting as “orange” of a criminal group involved in the concealment of assets acquired through international drug and weapons trafficking.

The arrest occurred for crimes of money laundering and criminal organization, this Friday (6), in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, in the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro.

According to investigations carried out by the PF Sensitive Investigations Group (GISE) in Mato Grosso do Sul, the man was a possible ghost employee of the criminal scheme. He was responsible for lending his identity to conceal the goods.

The 50 -year -old’s involvement was identified in investigations seeking to understand the performance of three criminal organizations. The groups, working in at least 11 Brazilian states, act mainly with financial movements involving real estate registered on behalf of third parties or facade companies.

After the study, the man’s connection was found to the criminal group through companies linked to the sectors of confection, food and real estate developments.

Investigations indicated that the criminal network used aerial and terrestrial routes to send cocaine to large urban centers in Brazil and Central American countries.

The police action is part of the execution of a pre -trial detention warrant issued by the 5th Federal Court of Campo Grande (MS). According to the PF, 64 search and seizure warrants were executed and 36 arrest warrants, as part of the scheme’s disarticulation actions.

“It was also determined to block bank accounts and assets belonging to 80 individuals and legal entities, as well as the kidnapping of 90 properties related to the illicit activities of the investigated group,” the corporation said.
