President of the party and secretary of the São Paulo government reinforces that it has Ratinho Júnior and Eduardo Leite as alternatives
The PSD president, he said again on Saturday (7.Jun.2025) that his party will support the governor of São Paulo, (Republicans), in the presidential dispute if the politician decides to give up the dispute for reelection in the state.
“Everyone knows that Tarcisio is a candidate for reelection, if he was not, he would have support from the PSD [a presidência da república]”, stated in a group event Sphere Brazil, in Guarujá (SP). Kassab is secretary of government and institutional relations of the Tarcisio government.
Kassab has already said on other opportunities that Tarcisio is a priority to the Plateau. In April, during an event in Sao Paulo, for example, he said: “If he [Tarcísio] is a candidate, the center right does not launch any other candidate“.
On Saturday (7.Jun), Kassab stressed that the PSD has the governors of Paraná, and Rio Grande do Sul, as an alternative to the plateau in the scenario in which Tarcisio competes for reelection in São Paulo.

In the same event, before speech, Kassab participated in a panel where he defended the implementation of mixed district vote in Brazil. The bill, approved by the Senate in 2017, is awaiting processing in the House of Representatives and proposes a system in which the voter votes for both a candidate for his district and in a party.

For Kassab, the current electoral system does not favor the technical qualification of the National Congress. “Until we have the mixed district vote, we will not be able to qualify Parliament. Our congress, our parliaments, are poor and this will only be modified with the mixed district vote, where it is the role of the lists to bring experts.”he said.
