Robert Lewandowski will no longer play with the Poland shirt. At least while the national team technician is Michal Probier. The Barcelona star has personal problems with the commander and made this decision on Sunday (8). The information was released by journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The drop of water for the top scorer took place after the removal of his captain’s armband. Piotr Zieliński was chosen after the attacker was out of the 2-0 win against Moldova last Friday (6). He declined the call alleging tiredness.
The announcement of the change was published in the official profile of the Polish national team. According to the statement, Lewa was communicated in person.
“By decision of coach Michał Probierz, Piotr Zieliński became the new captain of the Polish national team. The coach personally informed Robert Lewandowski, the entire team and the coaching staff about his decision.”
Lewandowski is the Games record holder with the Captain of Poland. There are 93 since 2014. In all, he played 158 games and scored 85 goals for the Polish team.
