Former President Jair Bolsonaro and his former order of orders, Mauro Cid, exchanged a handshake before the beginning of the state-of-the-art testimony during the first day of interrogation at the Supreme Court (STF) on Monday (9).
Lieutenant Colonel, who is the first of the defendants to testify, confirmed that the former president received, read and edited the draft decree that provided for the arrest of authorities and the installation of an exceptional regime in Brazil following the defeat in the 2022 elections.
“Yes, Lord, received and read,” said Mauro Cid to Minister Alexandre de Moraes, rapporteur of the case, when asked about reading the document by Jair Bolsonaro.

According to Mauro Cid, the then president “wiped the document”, removing most of the foreseen arrests – except that of Minister Alexandre de Moraes himself. The draft provided for the arrest of STF ministers, then -Senate President Rodrigo Pacheco and other authorities.

Mauro Cid’s hearing marks the beginning of the interrogation phase of the defendants of the “core 1” of the criminal action, considered the leadership group of the attempted democratic rupture. In addition to Jair Bolsonaro, there are also defendants at this stage names such as Walter Braga Netto, Filipe Martins, Augusto Heleno and Valdemar Costa Neto.
