Bolsonaro and Cid meet again in testimony about the coup plan

Former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) will meet on Monday (9) with former ally Cid in person in the Federal Supreme Court (STF). The meeting takes place after CID has reported the former president about the coup attempt plan at the end of 2022.

When he was arrested, Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid received visits from allies from the former president, such as Deputy and former Health Minister Eduardo Pazuello (PL-RJ), and Fabio Wajngarten, who was Bolsonaro’s secretary of communication and lawyer. However, there are no records on the former president’s visit.

In the criminal action of the coup plot, Bolsonaro and Mauro Cid will sit in the first row of the Session Room of the First Class of the Supreme Court. They and six other defendants, such as Anderson Torres and Augusto Heleno. Being arrested since December 2024, Braga Netto will be the only one of the defendants who will participate in the interrogation by video conferencing.

As a collaborator, Cid stated that meetings involving high -ranking military personnel and government members of the time planning measures to keep Jair Bolsonaro in power.   • Alexandre Ramagem, Federal Deputy and former Chief of Abin;
  • Almir Garnier, former Navy Commander;
  • Anderson Torres, former Minister of Justice;
  • Augusto Heleno, former GSI minister;
  • Jair Bolsonaro, former president;
  • Paulo Sérgio Nogueira, former Minister of Defense;
  • Walter Braga Netto, former minister of the Civil House and Defense (participates in video conferencing).

Accusations

PGR accused the now defendants for five crimes. They are: (1) attempted coup d’état, (2) armed criminal organization, (3) attempted violent abolition of the Democratic Rule of Law, (4) qualified damage and (5) deterioration of heritage.

However, only Alexandre Ramagem responds for three crimes: (1) attempted coup d’état, (2) attempted violent abolition of the Democratic Rule of Law and (3) criminal organization.

The First Class of the Supreme Court kept the three accusations because it considered that, when allegedly committed the crimes, branch was not parliamentary and had no immunity.
