With age, he loses the leaves from below and begins to resemble a tree, so we should not worry when a few lower leaves fall off. Worse, when the coin begins to turn yellow.
What does a coin like?
The coin grows best in a light and permeable ground. You can use a ready mixture for pot plants or prepare your own, mixing the universal soil with perlite and vermiculite in a 2: 1: 1 ratio. Such a mixture will provide adequate drainage and air access to the roots. Pieniazek loves bright but dispersed light. This plant does not like either drying or pouring. Water when the top layer of the soil in the pot will dry. In winter, when the plant is retired, watering should be reduced. Use water with room temperature, preferably protruded. Remember to remove excess water from the base after watering to avoid rotting roots.
The coin yellow? There can be several reasons
The coin yellow for several reasons. The first may be a decrease in temperature in autumn or winter. If there is less than 16 degrees Celsius on the thermometer, it can be one of the reasons for yellow coin leaves. Another reason is the lack of light. Pilea likes a bright position, but not very sunlight. Another reason is inappropriate watering. The coin grows well in slightly moist soil, but be careful not to pour the plant. The flower reacts better to temporary dryness than excess water. In spring and summer, we water it twice a week, autumn and winter once. The flower also reacts well to spraying. Depending on the cause of yellowing of the coin leaves, nutrition methods will be different. In any case, you need to cut sick leaves. If the coin has too little light or too low temperature, it is worth changing his position to brighter and/or warmer. We immediately overdo the flowers. We dry the roots, remove rotten parts and put in new, permeable soil. If the air in the apartment is dry, gardeners advise you to sprinkle the coin once a week with warm, soft water.
Homemade coin conditioner. The flower will regenerate quickly
One of the homemade conditioners that will strengthen the coin is the water remained after rinsing of the rice. It contains starch and minerals that can nourish the plant. Use it for watering from time to time. You can also prepare fertilizer from banana cuticles that contain the necessary for proper growth – phosphorus and potassium. These ingredients will strengthen and protect the coin against diseases. To make a fertilizer houses, just finely cut banana peel, put into a jar and pour hot water. Drain after 48 hours. With such a home fertilizer, you can water flowers twice a month. The conditioner will also work for other pot and garden flowers. During growth, i.e. from spring to autumn, Pieniazek should be fertilized every 2-4 weeks. In winter, fertilization should be reduced or completely stopped.
